TWO VILLAGE LEGAL CARE & SUPPORT CENTRES WERE INAUGURATED IN NORTH TRIPURA DISTRICT

On August 2nd, 2025, two Village Legal Care & Support Centres were officially inaugurated in North Tripura district. One centre was established at Kurti Gram Panchayat under the Kadamtala RD Block, by the District Legal Services Authority, North Tripura. The other centre was established at Pratyekroy Gram Panchayat under the Kalacherra RD Block, by the Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee, Dharmanagar.

The event was graced by Mr. Rajarshi Chakraborty, District Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, North Tripura, as the inaugurator, and Advocate Bikash Acharjee and Advocate Ramendra Debnath was present as the Resource Person.

The primary objective of this centre is to provide free legal advice and assistance to the residents of Kurti and Pratyekroy Gram Panchayat and neighboring villages. Many rural citizens are often unaware of legal processes and their rights, resulting in denial of justice. This initiative is a significant step toward bridging that gap and ensuring access to justice for all.

The Village Legal Care & Support Centre will remain open every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally, Sri. Gibananda Dhar at Kurti Gram Panchayat and Smt. Papia das at Pratyekroy Gram Panchayat will serve as the Para Legal Volunteer, playing a key role in assisting local residents with legal support.
