Today, on June 26, 2025, on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, two separate legal awareness camps were organized in North Tripura district by the District Legal Services Authority and the Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee.
This day is observed globally every year to raise awareness against the misuse and illicit trafficking of drugs. As part of this observance, the District Legal Services Authority organized a legal awareness camp at Indurail ADC Village under Panisagar RD Block. Simultaneously, the Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee, Dharmanagar, organized a similar camp at Tongibari Gram Panchayat under the Jubarajnagar RD Block.
The primary objective of these camps was to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of illegal drugs and their devastating impact on social, family, and personal life. Officials from the legal services authorities addressed the local community and elaborated on the legal provisions that exist to combat illegal drug use and trafficking. Speakers emphasized that drug abuse is a silent weapon of destruction that can derail the future of the younger generation. Therefore, collective awareness and proactive steps are essential to build a drug-free society.
Such initiatives play a crucial role in spreading awareness at the grassroots level and are expected to continue in the future to strengthen the fight against drug abuse.
