On 22nd August 2025, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), North Tripura, took a commendable step towards social awareness by organizing a Street Drama at Sanicherra Bazar under the Kalacherra RD Block. The theme of the performance was the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, aiming to educate the local community about the legal safeguards protecting children from exploitation.

The programme was thoughtfully arranged by Para Legal Volunteer, Sri Indrajit Das, whose dedication to spreading legal awareness among the masses played a key role in its success. Through vivid storytelling and engaging performances, the street drama highlighted the dangers of child labour, the legal consequences of employing underage workers, and the importance of education and safe childhood.
Street dramas are powerful tools for community engagement, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where access to legal knowledge is limited. This initiative by DLSA North Tripura not only informed the public but also inspired them to take a stand against child and adolescent labour.
Efforts like these go a long way in building an aware and just society, where every child has the right to a protected, educated, and dignified life.
