The Sub-Divisional Legal Services
Committee (SDLSC), Dharmanagar, North Tripura, successfully organized
two Legal Awareness Programmes
focused on the NALSA (Victims of
Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation) Scheme, 2015. These
programmes aimed to educate local communities about the legal rights and
support mechanisms available to victims of human trafficking and commercial
sexual exploitation.

The first programme took place
on 22nd September 2025 at Tongibari Gram Panchayat, under Jubarajnagar RD Block. The second followed on 23rd September 2025 at Gobindapur Gram Panchayat, under Kalacherra RD Block. Both events were met with active
participation from local residents, community leaders, and youth.
The sessions were led by Advocate Rupali
Nag and Advocate Juthika Debnath,
who served as the Resource Persons.
They provided insightful guidance on the provisions of the NALSA Scheme and
highlighted the legal remedies, rehabilitation, and support services available
to victims. They also addressed the importance of community involvement in
identifying and preventing trafficking.
Support on the ground was provided by Para
Legal Volunteers (PLVs Smt.
Satabdi Bhattacharjee and Sri
Raju Dhar, who played a vital role in coordinating the events and
mobilizing the community.
These awareness initiatives are part of SDLSC Dharmanagar’s continued
commitment to ensuring access to justice
for all, especially the most vulnerable sections of society. By
bringing legal education to the grassroots level, SDLSC empowers citizens to
recognize and assert their rights while building a more informed and just
community.
