The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), North Tripura, Dharmanagar, has launched a “Campaign on Special Drive” in collaboration with the Sub Divisional Legal Services Committee (SDLSC), Dharmanagar and local banks to assist senior citizens in submitting their Life Certificates. This campaign, running from 1st November 2025 to 30th November 2025, is a remarkable initiative aimed at ensuring that elderly pensioners can continue receiving their government pensions without difficulty.

Every year, senior citizens are required to submit their life certificates to the bank to verify that they are eligible to receive pensions. However, many of them face challenges due to health issues, lack of digital literacy, or mobility constraints. Recognizing these difficulties, DLSA, under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), has stepped forward to provide free legal and logistical support.

As part of this campaign, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) will visit rural and urban areas, extending door-to-door assistance to senior citizens who need help with documentation or digital verification. Additionally, help desks have been established at major bank branches such as the Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India, Dharmanagar, to provide on-the-spot support.

This initiative not only promotes access to government benefits but also reflects the commitment of the legal services institutions towards building a more inclusive and compassionate society. Through such proactive measures, DLSA aims to spread awareness about the rights and entitlements of senior citizens while strengthening trust between the public and the justice delivery system.
